OPTEK &#8211; Warm White LED Strip"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lately, I&#8217;ve been toying around with different LED strips for my projects. \u00a0 I&#8217;ve had the chance to use a variety of LED strips (both RGB, and single colour types). \u00a0They come in many flavours &#8211; no big deal.<\/p>\n<p>[ad name=&#8221;GoogleAS728x90ImgOnly&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Features \/ Specs:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Part #OVQ12S30WW7<\/li>\n<li>LED STRIP, 30 LED, WARM WHITE<\/li>\n<li>LED Module Type:\u00a0Board + LED<\/li>\n<li>LED Color:\u00a0Warm White<\/li>\n<li>CCT:\u00a03300K<\/li>\n<li>Luminous Flux @ Test:\u00a060lm<\/li>\n<li>Power Module Configuration:\u00a0Strip<\/li>\n<li>Supply Voltage:\u00a012V<\/li>\n<li>Power Rating:\u00a01.6W<\/li>\n<li>RoHS Compliant:\u00a0Yes<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.optekinc.com\/datasheets\/OVQ12S30B7.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">D<strong>atasheet<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Good:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Light colour is as specified &#8211; warm white. \u00a0This strip would serve well in locations where you want to cast a warm natural light (eg under kitchen cabinets).<\/li>\n<li>Although, these are not as bright as their 5050 SMD counterparts, they are softer on the eyes.<\/li>\n<li>Comes with 3M tape on the back. \u00a0I have not tried to secure the strip to anything since I haven&#8217;t decided a use for it yet. \u00a0I&#8217;m sure it&#8217;ll find its way in my car, or my workbench&#8230; somewhere&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>The unit is less than 3mm high x 8mm wide, so they can be tucked away pretty much anywhere.<\/li>\n<li>Price is very reasonable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Not So Good:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>These LEDs are not bright. \u00a0Don&#8217;t expect to use these where you are looking to illuminate objects from a distance. \u00a0Only a few feet max.<\/li>\n<li>They are not waterproof. \u00a0Depending on your situation, this could make or break this buy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you are looking for a LED strip that can be stuck on pretty much any surface, that casts a nice warm glow and has a small footprint (width and height), this is a nice choice. \u00a0 If you are looking to mount these in an environment that has to look clean, don&#8217;t forget that you will likely have to create some sort of carrier or barrier for these (so viewers won&#8217;t see the raw LEDs and the copper strip).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lately, I&#8217;ve been toying around with different LED strips for my projects. \u00a0 I&#8217;ve had the chance to use a variety of LED strips (both RGB, and single colour types). \u00a0They come in many flavours &#8211;
