{"id":513,"date":"2009-06-08T22:21:08","date_gmt":"2009-06-09T03:21:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/php.astolfo.com\/?p=513"},"modified":"2015-02-24T19:07:33","modified_gmt":"2015-02-25T00:07:33","slug":"microbot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.plastibots.com\/index.php\/2009\/06\/08\/microbot\/","title":{"rendered":"MicroBot"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After I had success with my challenge to build a 1&#8243;x1&#8243;x1&#8243; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.plastibots.com\/index.php\/2009\/06\/08\/nanobot\/\" target=\"_blank\">NanoBot<\/a>, I wanted to try my luck at something a little larger. <strong>MicroBot<\/strong> measures approx 2&#8243;x2&#8243;x1.5&#8243; and uses the same Atmel microcontroller and battery (see N<a href=\"\/image\/microbot\/1_L.jpg\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" style=\"border: 0pt none;\" src=\"\/image\/microbot\/1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"171\" height=\"129\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>anoBot details). The body was custom made from a larger piece of 4mm white PVC. MicroBot gets its&#8217; senses from 3 front mounted ProxDots (IR units) and a bottom mounted IR unit (for line following). This gives MicroBot the ability to detect left, center and right objects and to react accordingly. The drive motors are self contained units pulled from some old LS120 laptop disk drives.
